Air's new album is a soundtrack for a hundred year old silent film classic. The version I bought is the one without the DVD but the movie is on Youtube anyway.

I already had "Octopus" on vinyl but felt I needed a CD because I bought "In A Glass House" too, so now I have the first six albums on the same format. Had "Song For America" also on vinyl already but wanted to upgrade so it fits better between the first album and "Masque" (even though this is a remaster and the others are older versions).

"Songs In Red And Gray" was the only Vega (studio-)album I missed previously. Also filled my post-"What's Going On" Gaye collection with "I Want You". Well almost, I still miss "Live at the London Palladium". The Bob Marley project is still going on.

Found Yma Sumac's psych/rock album "Miracles" through some music blog and with the help of Youtube I was convinced to buy the CD. Amazing album!

"Remedies" is quite rare on CD, it usually costs something between 30-100 pounds depending on issue. I was lucky to find the Wounded Bird version on Amazon at £10. Now I have the first three Dr. John albums, not sure if I need more (they aren't that psych anyway?). Although the new album is supposed to be very good. Hmmm... Edit: According to Grooveshark the fourth album "The Sun, Moon & Herbs" sounds hazy enough for me, maybe I'll grab it.

Finally bought "Electric Cafe" and "Tour De France Soundtracks" so I felt like buying "Trans-Europe Express" and "The Man-Machine" on CD too although I had them on vinyl already. All these are old CD versions, not remasters. It seems that "Electric Cafe" is the original 1986 CD issue, whoah.

Gee, I like your pants

* Frank Zappa: Shut Up 'N Play Yer Guitar (1981) (2-cd)
* Frank Zappa: Guitar (1988) (2-cd)
* Frank Zappa: The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life (1991) (2-cd)
* Frank Zappa: Make A Jazz Noise Here (1991) (2-cd)
* Frank Zappa: The Yellow Shark (1993) (cd)

4 hours of guitar solos anyone? With any other artist it would be a suicide to listen to.

The two double live albums were recorded during the same tour as "Broadway The Hard Way" (1988) album. They even visited Finland during that tour for the first time since the 70's. Not sure if I was aware of Mr. Zappa back then (had I heard "Hot Rats" already or was it a bit later?) but I was 15 so going to the show was out of the question anyway.

Ravel's "Boléro" was removed from some versions of the "Best Band" album but it is included in this copy I got. Also some versions of "Jazz Noise" don't include the short Stravinsky and Bartók tracks but I got the version where they are.

"The Yellow Shark" was the last album Zappa released during his lifetime, he passed away only a month after the album release.

* Dr. John: Babylon (1969) (cd)
* Magma: Köhntarkösz (1974) (cd)
* Ange: Au-delà Du Délire (1974) (cd)
* Rita Lee: Build Up (1970) (cd)
* Witch: Lazy Bones !! (1975) (cd)
* Erkin Koray: İllâ Ki (1983) (cd)
* Juno Reactor: Shango (2000) (cd)
* Jesper Kyd: Hitman - Blood Money (2006) (cd)
* Ville Leinonen: Camp Crystal Lake (2012) (cd-r)

"İllâ Ki" was reissued recently so I finally got me one. "Lazy Bones !!" is a killer third album by Zambian band Witch. Nice psychedelic rock, almost sounding like Can sometimes! "Camp Crystal Lake" is an official bootleg cd-r issue, numbered edition of 46 copies. However it will be released on vinyl later this year.

* Invisible Opera Company Of Oz: Melbourne Studio Tapes (2004) (cd)
* Daevid Allen: Radio Art 1984 (2006) (cd)

Of the several Bananamoon Obscura series albums I finally got me some. All albums in this series are limited editions of 1000 copies housed in simple cardboard sleeves.

"Melbourne Studio Tapes" is a spontaneous studio demo session recorded in February 1990 at Harry Williamson's studio. The band includes Daevid and Harry with Kangaroo Moon violinist Elliet Mackrell plus Mother Gong's rhythm section Rob George on drums and Dougie Kerr on bass.

"Radio Art 1984" is a special one hour radio program/tape collage Daevid did with four track tape recorders at BMO studio in Australia for 2NCR radio Lismore and it was broadcasted in winter 1984.

Split the circle

* Circle: Manner (2012) (lp)
* Split Cranium: s/t (2012) (cd)

The latest Circle album was released on the Record Store Day. It's a limited edition of 500 copies. Available on vinyl only. It's a studio album released on Hydra Head Records. Luckily there was a few copies available on Ektro so I didn't need to rush to the record stores.

Hydra Head also released the Split Cranium album (available on cd and vinyl). The band features Aaron Turner (of Isis) and Jussi Lehtisalo (of Circle) among others. The band plays some kind of hardcore punk or so.
