Haven't seen any live music for a while... so we went to see Teemu Elon Puhuvat Eläimet on Thursday evening at Nuclear Nightclub. The gig was part of their release tour for the new album "Kointähden siirtokunta" which of course I bought there and got it signed too.
The band is sort of a super group as it features many familiar names from the Pori music scene; Teemu Elo himself was guitarist for Circle for about ten years in their early years, brother Mikko Elo (bass) plays also in Kuusumun Profeetta and Lowlife Rock'n'Roll Philosophers, the man playing drums here is one and only Mika Rättö, usually seen behind keyboards or microphone in Circle, Kuusumun Profeetta and so many others, keyboardist Ville Leinonen is maybe best known as solo artist but has also played drums for Risto, guitarist Tuomas Grönlund is maybe the least famous of them but have at least played in Unkarin Musta Luumu whose album I just recently bought.
The gig itself was great! Mostly they played songs from the new album but at least the hit song "Taikahevonen" from the previous album was played. Sometimes they went quite psychedelic, especially during those couple of long jams which were cool.
